What makes it beautiful

It started from the architect's wish to design a house which brings harmony to the family who lives inside. Beauty comes from the inside, hence a beautiful house is a house where its family is happy and lives in harmony. Nowadays people tend to live in their own worlds and individualism has become an inevitable problem in a family. Each individual has their own needs and activities, it is almost impossible to gather the whole family in a house. However with this mindset of a harmony in a house, the difference of needs of each individual is not a setback.

The fingers

The house is inspired by a hand which has different functions in each finger. The fingers have to support each other in order to make a perfect hand. If one finger does not function, it will affect the hand and it will lose its functionality. The basic geometrical form of a box is efficient and maximizes the functions in a house, which was chosen as the general form of the house. One box represent one finger, which is modified to meet the user(s)'s needs and represents the users who live inside the box. Just like the fingers on a hand, there should be a media to connect the fingers. In Finger House, the connector is a long linear corridor which connects the boxes, allowing the users to meet and interact with each other, and create unpredictable moments and experiences in the house.
